What is Equity OPM or Non-Debt Funding? |
Equity OPM or non-debt funding involves the solicitation of Other People's Money (OPM) in exchange for ownership positions in your business or a high rate of return on the money they provide. Established correctly using an attractive exit strategy, your business can become a money magnet, drawing investors of all shapes and sizes to invest in your business plan. The best part of equity OPM or non-debt funding is that you continue to control your business and make the decisions. |
What is an 'exit strategy'? |
An exit strategy is the means by which an investor can close out or leave a deal they're involved in, whether through the sale of their stock, a buyout or following a set return on their investment. The exit strategy is a core vehicle to building a successful funding strategy and attracting investors. Not only does it tell the investor how they will get their return, but when they will get it, how much they will get and how they can get out early if they later decide the deal is not for them. |

Do I ever have to pay it back? |
No, the basic underlying principle of investing is 'risk and reward'. Usually, the greater the risk, the greater the potential for reward. Ultimately, investors are banking on your ability to implement your business plan and the future success of your company. If the company does well, they'll achieve a favorable return on their investment. But if it fails, they could lose all of their money. |

How do I qualify for OPM, and can I get funding if I've had a bankruptcy? |
Anybody can qualify for equity funding. All you need is a viable idea or business, a sound funding strategy, an enticing offer and a plan for execution. As far as bankruptcies, investors understand the ups and downs of financing. They'll take a close look at the situation, but will be more forgiving to someone who has tried, failed and learned by the experience than someone who has never tried at all. In fact, some of the largest corporate successes in America have had bad credit and have turned to Equity OPM. |
